Workshop Facilitation

The group mind principle states that the resulting force generated from the combining of like minds is greater than the sum of its parts. Minds that are focused together upon a common theme create a mutual force that is not merely additive, but vastly more powerful than any one individual or group of individuals.

A Facilitator is “an individual who enables groups and organizations to work more effectively; to collaborate and achieve synergy. She or he is a ‘content neutral’ party who by not taking sides or…advocating a point of view during the meeting, can advocate for fair, open, and inclusive procedures to accomplish the group’s work” – Business Dictionary

“Group Facilitation is moment-by-moment awareness; awake and being in action – awake in the way a hunter stalks a tiger or a mother watches over her newborn infant. The Facilitator protects the group culture at the same time as cutting through unproductive, sabotaging patterns to get to what enhances and fulfills the group purpose.” – Hunter, Bailey, Taylor –

We design and facilitate a range of group workshops aimed at  achieving specific objectives as required by the organisation/team.  Our workshops create the environment for groups to generate, analyse and evaluate ideas, and to develop strategies for implementing them in ways that are collaborative and meaningful  to the individual, the team and the organisation.

Our Client Process

  1. Determine Objectives, Outputs and Key Success Factors: We meet with the workshop owner or sponsor to determine the desired outcomes and to contract key success factors and responsibilities for the process;
  2. Produce High Level Design and AgendaWe produce a high level workshop outline and agenda for communication to participants and stakeholders;
  3. Design and Prepare for Workshop:  We design the workshop  selecting and organising processes, models and techniques to achieve the workshop objectives;
  4. Facilitate Workshop:  We professionally facilitate the workshop; engaging the group in achieving its objectives;
  5. Document and Deliver Outputs:  Finally, we  produce documented results  – whether it be a project definition or plan,  a Business Strategy, a product/service design, or a process improvement design.

inter-arise facilitates workshops across a broad spectrum of objectives including strategic envisioning and planning, project definition, planning and reviews, process improvement, lessons learned, creativity and innovation, performance improvement, conflict resolution, team-cohesion and much more.

We have over sixteen years experience in facilitating group processes and have international accreditations with the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) and the Global Facilitation Network (GlobalFN).  Our facilitators are also trained, accredited coaches and experienced business consultants with strong business backgrounds.

WHY GROUP FACILITATION?

The overall benefits to an organisation of employing collaborative processes and achieving group synergy are enormous:

Improved employee effectiveness and fulfillment leads to increased delivery, customer satisfaction and revenue;

Costs are reduced due to shorter turn-around times in creating solutions, resolving problems, innovating products and services, improving operational efficiencies and developing capability;

Organisation knowledge is constantly shared and sharpened as communication and collaboration become the culture;

Risk is reduced due to more effective solution creation, focused effort, participation, higher quality decision-making, shared ownership of strategy and intention to progress, and harnessing collective capability.

Group facilitation leads to more agile, capable and abundant organisations !
