Graphic Facilitation Masterclass

Graphic Facilitation Masterclass 06th June 2013

The visualisation of ideas and concepts plays an important role in how we make meaning of and retain information, as well as how we innovate.

Cognitive science shows us that one of the ways the brain creates meaning is through the process of our retina passing visual stimuli to our primary visual cortex which then radiates this information to numerous parts of the brain for parallel processing and meaning-making, resulting in us creating a unified mental model of the information we see.

Using imagery as well as words to construct information and to communicate in workshops, meetings, training, teaching etc, activates different parts of the brain – stimulating whole-brain engagement – in processing information. It also contributes to strengthening our coginition as neuroscience research shows us that new neural pathways develop as we engage in physical activity. Information Visualisation and Graphic Facilitation encourages participation and strengthens our ability to process information and communicate in a highly integrated and therefore, effective, way.

It’s also just great FUN !

What some participants have shared about their experience with us:

“I found it very valuable to share with others who are involved in visualisation….. There was a strong sharing mode which said to each participant..all the knowledge and experience that I /WE have (i.e. the Facilitator and class) put on the table. ‘It’s here for you’! It was REAL education, in the sense of ‘e-ducare’
Facilitator: Supportive and hands-on. I felt we were being schooled by someone who had the knowledge and the experience. Almost certainly the best in the country.
Value Gained: Confidence. Very useful techniques, shortcuts. Everything was practical and useful.”

The content – Brilliant.  Love the book we got with to go and practice from.  All the material we received on the day was of high quality and well presented.
The facilitator – Accommodating and involved.  Shared own experience and looked at every person’s individual needs.
The value  – I never believed I am ‘artistic’ and could draw.  This was made easy and every person’s own ability came through.
have used the graphic facilitation to present the Learning offerings to a group of Business Analysts.  It was an innovative fun way to make the message stick.   This is a very good tool to use in everything we do.”

“The integration of the theory and the practical aspects created a good space.  Highlights included tapping into and unlocking every person’s potential and the magic in the power of simplicity. An overwhelming thank you!”

“The Facilitator was totally outstanding in this field.  She knows what she’s talking about and has great perception and knowledge in this field.  Thank you for your valuable input”

“Awesome, very unique and entertaining.  Enjoyed it and learnt alot.  Nice pace and very interesting. [The facilitator was] very passionate about the subject, well read and shared a lot of interesting facts.  Kept the training fun and relevant.”
